A garden in late June
Everything grown within a mile of where it was cut, and arranged the morning of.
The florist was the bride’s aunt and the garden was hers. Nothing was ordered. Everything was cut between six and nine on the morning of the wedding.

The morning cut
Buckets along the kitchen wall, stems still wet, the whole house smelling of sweet pea.

Half of it was compost by Monday. It was perfect.

Ask what is in season and then ask who is growing it.
